• 16 Oct 2026 · Ratings: First ratings published (preview). 20 AI racing tools rated on Transparency score (then called Checkability): six published criteria worth 100 points, scored only from each tool's own public pages.
• 16 Oct 2026 · Added: 10 more AI tools. 10 AI tools added with sources, taking the total to 30. Missing prices filled in from the tools' own pages.
• 17 Oct 2026 · Method: Performance score introduced. A second score, Performance (0 to 100), added alongside the score now called the Transparency score, based on each published level-stakes record. Marketing claims are now shown separately and labelled as not verified.
• 17 Oct 2026 · Added: Tipster ratings launched. 32 UK and Irish racing tipsters rated on the same two scores, each with sources. 17 had a Performance score at launch.
• 17 Oct 2026 · Re-checked: Performance research: all 30 AI tools. Every AI tool's published record re-checked. 7 tools now have a Performance score (up from 1), and the other 23 show the exact reason they can't be scored yet. Some figures were recomputed from the tools' own published picks.
• 17 Oct 2026 · Method: Performance score v2. Performance now uses a gentler scale (50 + ROI × 1.25), pulls small and self-reported records towards 50, adds a provisional tier for 50 to 199 settled bets, shows evidence badges, and flags records settled at advised odds. Applies to AI tools and tipsters alike.
• 17 Oct 2026 · Added: US and Australian tipsters and tools. 39 tipsters added (21 UK and Irish, 10 US, 8 Australian) and 15 AI tools (9 UK or multi-region, 4 US, 2 Australian). Every entry now shows its country, with a location filter.
• 17 Oct 2026 · Reclassified: 6 data providers moved out of the AI ratings. The Racing API, HorseRaceDatabase, Timeform, RaceMetrics (Proform), Geegeez and Form Ratings sell data and form tools rather than AI selections, so they now sit on the Data & API providers page and are no longer ranked. Racing Expert, a human tipping service with no AI claim, moved to Tipsters. 38 AI tools remain.
• 17 Oct 2026 · Re-sourced: 27 entries re-sourced to original sources. Entries that relied on a third-party review site now cite the original source: 20 prices re-checked on Tipstrr profiles, 6 performance records re-read from Tipstrr or OLBG stats pages, ATR Predictor and Race-AI described from their own sites, and the Pricewise price taken from racingpost.com. Two prices were corrected: UNDERDOG Racing Tips (£29 to £39 a month) and SVB Tips (first-month discount 90% to 70%). Three prices are still only available from a third-party review and are labelled as such.
• 18 Oct 2026 · Transparency: Check dates on every entry. Every AI tool, tipster and data provider now shows when its numbers were last checked against the sources and when its entry last changed, taken from our research records and edit history.
• 18 Oct 2026 · Renamed: Checkability is now the Transparency score. The score that measures how openly a tool or tipster publishes a record you can verify is now called the Transparency score (Transparency for short). Nothing about how it's calculated has changed: the same six criteria and weights. We now also show Performance first, then Transparency, and any record in profit shows a green Performance badge.
• 18 Oct 2026 · Re-checked: Automatic re-check: 1 Tipstrr record updated. 17 Tipstrr profiles were re-read automatically and 1 had new figures: Value Bet + (1,872 to 1,882 bets, ROI +31.0% to +30.3%).
• 18 Oct 2026 · Transparency: Transparency bands renamed. The Transparency score bands are now called High transparency (60–100), Medium transparency (30–59) and Low transparency (0–29), replacing Highly verifiable, Partly verifiable and Unverified. The thresholds and every score are unchanged.
• 18 Oct 2026 · Added: Other sports: 26 AI tools and 24 tipsters. Added 26 AI tools for football, tennis, US sports, cricket, golf, darts, esports and multi-sport, and 24 tipsters for football, tennis, golf, basketball and multi-sport (19 proofed on Tipstrr, two Sporting Life columnists and three self-published records). Each record was read from its own public page on 18 Oct 2026 and scored on the same rules as racing. Where a record is only a hit rate, a backtest, variable stakes, or doesn’t agree with itself, the entry is listed with Insufficient data and the reason shown. Sport filters added to the tipsters page. Also fixed the listing filters, which had stopped responding on the tools, tipsters and data-provider pages.
• 18 Oct 2026 · Method: Data & API providers: 50 providers, two scores and a rank within each sport. The Data & API providers section grows from 6 racing providers to 50 across football, horse racing, tennis, US sports, cricket, golf, esports, motorsport, darts, AFL, odds feeds, betting exchanges and historical datasets. Each provider now gets two scores, shown side by side and never combined: a provider Transparency score (published pricing carries the most weight, then docs, coverage, plan limits, a status page, company identity and delivery) and an Access & value score (free access, entry price, sports, data types, delivery options including MCP and WebSocket, and historical data). Every point comes from the provider's own public page, checked 18 Oct 2026; anything not published scores 0. Providers are ranked within each sport or category by Transparency, then Access & value. The location filter now shows where a provider's data covers (USA, UK & Ireland, Australia, International), not where it is based. The six providers listed before were re-checked and re-scored on the same rules; The Racing API now shows its plan prices publicly (£27.99 to £99.99 a month) and Timeform states £500 to £1,500 a month for individual API users. Scores describe what a provider publishes, not data quality. Sponsored listings sit outside the rankings and are labelled Sponsored.
• 18 Oct 2026 · Method: Scoreboard: P/L over time from dated checks. The weekly scoreboard now draws each record's level-stakes P/L at the dates we actually read it (first points 17 Oct 2026), one panel per record on its own scale, with a week-on-week column. Records with a single dated check are listed as collecting. Nothing is interpolated or estimated.

Tipster pages now show the sample size, an approximate 95% range for ROI calculated from the published record (method on the methodology page; not shown where a strike rate isn't published) and the 7-day re-check date. Rankings show each record's period and next re-check. Scores are unchanged.

Their records are at advised odds; at Betfair SP TCs punts and Gallop Guru show losses, which their pages now note. Also added Juvenile Race Analytics (Performance 43 from a self-reported starting-price record, Transparency 65), HK Racing Model PRO (Hong Kong racing ratings; Insufficient data because it publishes ratings rather than bets, Transparency 85), FootInsights (football; Insufficient data because Best Tips are published as a hit rate only, Transparency 60) and the OddsLink odds API (provider Transparency 80, Access & value 85).
