Independence and corrections policy
How we keep our ratings independent, how paid links are labelled, and how to get something corrected.
This page sets out the rules we work to, so you can judge our ratings for yourself. Our aim is simple: to be a trusted place for the facts about AI sports-prediction tools, tipsters and sports data providers, with every score dated, explained and linked to its source.
Money never changes a score
Whether a tool, tipster or provider is an affiliate partner, a sponsor or an advertiser has no effect on its scores or its position in any ranking. Every listing is scored by the same published methodology, whether or not it has any commercial relationship with us. We do not sell scores. Nobody can pay to be listed or removed, to move up a ranking, or to have a score raised or a red flag softened.
Makers can pay for a one-off records audit, where we check their full published record. That buys the work, not the result: the score that comes out of it is whatever the record shows, and the audit note is labelled “Audit paid for by the tool maker”.
How paid placements and affiliate links are labelled
- Paid placements are labelled “Sponsored” and never sit inside a ranked list.
- Links that can earn us a commission are marked “Affiliate link” next to the button. Every affiliate programme we have joined is listed on our affiliate disclosure page.
- Links to the published records we check never carry tracking.
- We do not link to bookmakers or betting operators.
Sponsorship options are set out on our advertise page, under the same rules.
What the evidence labels mean
Every Performance score says where the record behind it comes from:
- Independently proofed: the record is kept by a third party, for example a proofing site or a newspaper naps table, not by the seller.
- Recomputed by us: we rebuilt the figures ourselves from the bet-by-bet record the tool or tipster publishes.
- Self-reported: the totals are published by the tool or tipster itself, or proofed by a company that also sells the service.
A record needs at least 200 settled bets for a full score. Records with 50 to 199 bets get a provisional score, shown below full scores and never ranked. Below 50 bets, or with no published record we can check, the listing is marked as not having enough data to score.
What verification means here
Where we can, we check a published record against official results. Often that is not possible, and the evidence label tells you how far we could go. “Unverified” or “self-reported” is not an accusation: it does not mean a seller is dishonest, only that we could not confirm the record independently.
Corrections and right of reply
Anyone can ask us to correct a listing or send us evidence we have missed: email [email protected]. That includes the tools, tipsters and providers we rate, who can also reply to anything we say about them. Every request goes through the same process, whoever sends it and whether or not they have any commercial relationship with us. When a score or a fact changes, we log it with its date on our public changelog.
The badge is free and the same for everyone
Every listing can show its current rating on its own site with our badge. It is free, it is the same for everyone, sponsors included, and it shows the scores exactly as they are on the listing.
What we are not
We don't take bets, and we don't give tips or betting advice. We rate records that others publish. We are not an independent proofing service, and a listing or score on this site is not independent proofing of a record for the purposes of the UK advertising codes enforced by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA).
