How to raise your transparency score

A plain checklist of the criteria behind our Transparency score, with what counts as evidence for each one. For AI tools, tipsters and data providers.

The short version

  • The Transparency score (0–100) measures how openly a tool or tipster publishes a record you can verify. It does not measure profit.
  • Each criterion is either verified (full points) or not yet verified (0 points). We only count what is published and public.
  • The same criteria and the same points apply to every listing. We never sell scores, and affiliate status, sponsorship or advertising never change one.
  • We don't give paid or private advice. This page is the whole of it.

AI tools and tipsters

Six criteria, 100 points. The same keys and weights for AI tools and human tipsters; only the wording is adapted for people. Full method. The AI tipping transparency report 2026 shows how many of the AI tools and tipsters we rate meet each criterion.

  1. 25points

Publish every pick before the event starts, with the time it was posted.

Criterion: Picks published before the off, timestamped · for tipsters: Tips published before the off, timestamped

What counts as evidence: A public page, feed or proofing record that shows each selection with its timestamp, posted before the off. A timestamp lodged with an independent party is strongest.

  2. 25points

Keep the full record public, losers included, for the whole period.

Criterion: Full public ledger including losers · for tipsters: Full record including losers (public ledger or independent tally)

What counts as evidence: A public results page or ledger listing every settled selection, winners and losers, with no gaps or deleted months, or an independent tally (for example Tipstrr, the Racing Post Press Challenge or naps table, betHQ).

  3. 15points

Say which price each result is settled at.

Criterion: Price basis stated (SP, BSP, exchange, CLV) · for tipsters: Price basis stated (SP, BSP, advised odds)

What counts as evidence: A clear statement on the results page of the price basis: starting price (SP), Betfair SP, exchange price, advised odds or closing-line value (CLV).

  4. 15points

Build a published record of 500 or more settled selections.

    Criterion: 500+ settled selections

What counts as evidence: The bet count in the public record itself: 500+ settled selections we can count or read from the record.

  5. 10points

    Explain how selections are made.

Criterion: Methodology documented · for tipsters: Approach and staking explained

What counts as evidence: A public page describing the method: for AI tools, what the model or system does; for tipsters, the approach and the staking plan.

  6. 10points

    Let people download the results.

    Criterion: Results downloadable (CSV/API)

What counts as evidence: A link to the full results as a CSV or spreadsheet download, or a documented API.

Data & API providers

Seven criteria, 100 points. Every point must trace to your own public page, with the date we checked it; anything not published or not found scores 0. Providers also get an Access & value score from published facts (free access, entry price, data types, delivery, history); see the provider method.

  1. 30points

Pricing published (a paid price with currency, or a stated free-only product)

What counts as evidence: A public pricing page with a paid price and its currency, or a clear statement that the product is free-only.

  2. 20points

Public documentation (readable without signing up)

What counts as evidence: Documentation anyone can read without signing up.

  3. 15points

Coverage list published (sports / competitions)

What counts as evidence: A published list of the sports or competitions covered.

  4. 10points

Plan limits or allowances published (requests, leagues, features)

What counts as evidence: Published plan limits or allowances (requests, leagues, features).

  5. 10points

    Public status page

What counts as evidence: A public status page.

  6. 10points

Company identity stated (legal entity or address)

What counts as evidence: Your legal entity name or registered address, stated on your own site.

  7. 5points

Delivery method stated (API, feed, files, app)

What counts as evidence: How the data is delivered (API, feed, files, app), stated on your own pages.

Also worth knowing: the Performance score

Transparency is one of two scores. The other, the Performance score, comes only from a published level-stakes record (profit/loss or ROI, settled bets, period, price basis). A record needs 200+ settled bets for a full score (50–199 is Provisional). It's scored separately and never combined with Transparency. How Performance is scored.
